Back To Ombabika

Even after 72,000 miles, this one place eluded me. This is the story of how we fixed that.

Since you were kind enough to visit my blog for this post, I’ll give you a bit of director’s commentary. If you watch closely for my sweatiness level, you will see it increase in the voiceover videos as we go along. I was recording in my RV (that’s another story) and couldn’t run any AC or fans due to wanting a clean audio signal. It was a 90 degree day, so quite a struggle. 🙂

My hope is that getting this video published will unblock me to get the rest of the trip story completed. It should just be two more posts and we’ll return back to the old text/image/gif format for those. Videos take so much time!

If you’re still here, thanks so much for sticking around!

  1. loved the video. This is your friend from Hennessey, come back anytime. I no longer have the quilt shop but our farm keeps us busy with cattle, chickens and a big garden. Glad to hear from you. We speak of you often.

    1. Ah, thanks so much. And I still have that wonderful quilt that you sent me. It’s my number one option on the couch for chilly days. That was so sweet of you to make that for me. 🙂

  2. I’m so glad you’re back and allow us to have some closure! LOL What a pleasant surprise!! Now for the particulars. I personally think you arrived in first place, not third place. Just because you weren’t at the cemetery, doesn’t mean you weren’t in Ombabika. Let’s see if we can get the refs to look at the instant replay camera. Congratulations brother!

    1. Ha! No, 3rd place is legit. To the victors go the spoils! Like I said in the video, I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. Having to come back was such a blessing.

  3. Wonderful! You have definitely added to the lives of every person you have met on this journey and they are better people because of you. It’s been so interesting to read about how total strangers have welcomed you.
