My time on the plains of Argentina and the city of Cordoba was not very epic, but it was still special. In this episode, things start to get strangely familiar…
Snow and Samwise
Wait a second….Winter and Summer are reversed in the Southern Hemisphere? Why didn’t anyone tell me! In this episode, we continue to skirt alongside the Andes in Argentina and cross a lifetime milestone.
Variety and Vino in the Valley
Argentina does its best to slow us down, possibly so that we could appreciate the incredible number of sights on our way. I nearly pick up a hitch-hiker and finally answer the question on everyone’s mind: What is mondongo?
Anniversary and Announcement
We celebrate one year on the road by announcing what comes next.
One Bolt
We visit Salta and continue south in Argentina. In this episode, Leebong breaks a record, we meet a mechanical Nebraskan, we fix some stuff, take a spin on the legendary “Ruta 40” and I brush my teeth.
A Salt
We leave Chile with a frown and cross the Andes into Argentina. Despite vicious assaults from the climate and the elevation, we come out of it with a smile. 🙂
Atacama Drama
Our journey continues as we visit the stunning sights of the Atacama Desert in northern Chile. We get to see flamingos, geysers and vicuñas….and Annie reminds me that she is not a dirtbike.
The Biggest Decision
You may have forgotten, but Annie and I actually live in the United States. Accordingly, we should probably go back there at some point. How we get there? Ay, there’s the rub.
Turning to Tocopilla
We end a long drought without a song place by visiting Tocopilla, Chile, place 59 of 92. We pucker-up to a dromedary, wander the desert, explore a ghost town and try to keep our legs from becoming dog food.
Eureka! Arequipa and Arica!
We make our last stop in Peru and cross into country number 13 on our trip, Chile. In this episode we manage to not get bombs dropped on us, get forced to go to a casino, officially become a smuggler and savor forbidden fruit.
